How To Settle Debt

Settle Your Debts On Your Own without an Attorney or Settlement Company

It may have never ocurred to you that you can negotiate with your creditors and settle your debts on your own. I know in my own situation, I was very close to hiring an attorney to negotiate with my creditors. Due to some bad investments in rental properties and a failed marriage, I had a staggering total debt of $257,000.00!  The attorney would be paid 20% of the amount of debt that he was able to negotiate away. Before I had the attorney get started, I decided to do some searching on the internet and also call some other attorneys to get some other estimates on the cost of having the debt settled. I learned through my research that I could actually do the debt settlement negotiating on my own behalf. I wondered if I would be able to get as good of a settlement as an attorney who does settlements frequently. After calling around I was told that an attorney could probably negotiate away 50% of my debt, but I would also then have to pay the attorney some fairly high fees to do the negotiation. I ultimately decided to attempt the debt negotiation on my own, but not until I did a lot of research, purchased a couple information courses online, and talked with several attorneys. I was able to eliminate my debt for pennies on the dollar or 33%. I did far better for myself than any attorney could promise and I saved the huge fee to hire them to do the work. Since I negotiated my debts away, and did not file bankruptcy, I have been able to quickly get my credit score back on track.

Settling your debts by negotiating with your creditors really is not difficult or time consuming. You just need to be very careful that when you get a settlement, it is really a settlement. The last thing you need is a creditor telling you at a later time that the payment they received was just a payment and that you still have a balance owed. In my eBooklet I will show you how to guarantee that when you receive a settlement, your account will be settled and will not come back to haunt you.

I have actually settled debts! I scanned in a few actual Cancellation of Debt forms so that you could see for a fact that I have actually been in your shoes and that I know how to settle debt. View some of my cancellation of debt forms.

During the 10 months it took me to settle with all my creditors, I kept notes on what worked and what did not work during my negotiations. I have put together a "How To" eBooklet that encompasses the knowledge I gained from ordering information courses, speaking with attorneys, and through my own experience. I discovered that I was actually very good at Debt Negotiation.  I have put together all the information you will need to confidently and successfully negotiate with your creditors to settle your debt. I learned from the other courses I purchased on the internet that they contained some useful information and a lot of fluff. The fluff was information that really isn't needed but is added so the course looks like it contains a great deal of information and therefore can have a bigger price tag.  I have cut out all of the fluff in my "How To" eBooklet.  I know that you are stressed out from carrying around your debt load and you don't need to waste time reading anything that is not important.

The strategies for reducing debt by negotiation and detailed in my eBooklet are extremely powerful. I settled one account with a balance of $46,835.00 with only $14000.00.  A savings of $32,835.00, and settled for 29%! Below is a scan of the actual settlement agreement that I was able to negotiate:
